Over the years there has been an incredible assortment of
licensed merchandise available for the Transformers concept. In
fact, there's so much it really is hard to keep track of it all.
This section is intended to acknowledge at least some of those
myriad items and more will be added over time.
Video Games...
The Transformers have been making video game appearances
as far back as 1986. (This list was compiled thanks in-part to
Wikipedia).
- The Transformers, a 1986 platform game by Ocean
Software (Sinclair Spectrum 48K, Commodore 64).
- Transformers: The Battle to Save the Earth, a 1986
action role-playing game (Commodore 64).
- Transformers: Convoy no Nazo (Mystery of Convoy),
a 1986 Famicon (NES) game, exclusive to Japan. Basically, a
badly done side-scrolling shooter game.
- Transformers: Headmasters,
a 1987 Famicon (NES) game (Japan only).
- Transformers: Beast Wars, a 1997 action role-playing
game (PlayStation, PC and Mac)
- Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals, a 2000 fighting
game (PS and Nintendo 64). The N64 version was produced in low
quantities and sold to Blockbuster Video stores at the time. It
is somewhat rare.
- Transformers (also known as Transformers Tataki),
a
2003 PlayStation 2 game (exclusive to Japan). This game was
focused on Generation One predominantly.
- Transformers, a 2004 video game based on Transformers:
Armada (PS2).
- Transformers: The Game, a 2007 video game based on the
live action movie (all platforms).
- Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, a 2009 video game
of the movie (all platforms).
- Transformers: Animated (2009, Nintendo DS).
- Transformers: War for
Cybertron (2010,. PS3/XBox 360/PC).
(Note: The Wii version is called Transformers: Cybertron
Adventures and is a "rail shooter" version of the game (it's
simpler and not as complete as the PS3/XBox versions).
|
|
- Transformers: Fall of Cybertron (2012.
PS3/XBox360/PC). A direct sequel to War for Cybertron.
|
|
|
Tranformers Prime: The Game (2012.
All Nintendo formats).
A game that chronicles an untold story in the Prime
continuity.
