Generations Warpath

A nice update on Warpath, a character who hadn't really seen many updates over the years (I can think of the Classics Legends toy and that's about it). This is like a bigger version of the aforementioned Legends toy. I also like his head design--the mask style face is cool. On the down side, Warpath's transformation scheme is not intuitive. I had to consult the instructions to figure him out (usually I can manage without them. Oh the shame!) Overall, he's a pretty excellent update to the classic G1 character. I do wish he had a separate gun of some sort though (he has a turret and a missile launcher that's attached to his shoulder).

Verdict:  Excellent. A must-buy (assuming you can find him).

Generations Thundercracker

What can I really say about a toy I've boughten multiple times in other color schemes? This is the fifth iteration of this toy in the standard Seeker style (and the eighth in total). Still, who doesn't want them all? Starscream, Skywarp, Thundercracker, Acid Storm and Ramjet, Dirge and Thrust. It's G1 heaven, baby!

Verdict:  Excellent. More of the same excellent Seeker mold.

Generations Wheeljack

This toy is an extensive remold of the Tracks mold. It works even better as Wheeljack as many other fans have said. I think the feet are better on this version as are the weapons and he feels a bit more stable then Tracks did. I also like how his wrenches double as guns.

Verdict:  Excellent.

Now that I've seen the toy in-person, I have to say I like the head mold a lot better then I expected I would (the pics online made it look hideous when its really not). This is another toy I had trouble transforming to robot mode (I broke off two little pieces on the legs but I'm pretty sure the damage is not permanent). I like that he has light pipe eyes as well. I do wish that the truck mode had black windows in car mode instead of transparent ones as I think that would've improved its look. Overall I think he's a decent update.

Verdict:  Good. Not perfect but a worthy update all the same.

Generations Scourge

I love the jet mode of this toy. Does it capture the spirit of the original G1 character? Frankly, no. It's totally wrong in fact but if this were a different Transformer I would love its look. In robot mode, though, the toy looks very much like G1 Scourge. The head mold is bang-on, the color is right and the look evokes G1 Scourge. Why they couldn't or wouldn't do the vehicle mode right, I have no idea (but hey, why is Perceptor a SUV or Galvatron a tank?)  I like that Scourge's gun resembles his G1 Targetmaster Fracus--but it would've been even better if it was a full-on Targetmaster like Cyclonus got instead of just a gun with a passing similarity. One complaint though--the toy was hard to change forms (I think I stressed the plastic in one place trying to change it between modes). Warpath was bad enough and Scourge was even worse (I miss the simplicity of G1 toys!)

Verdict:  Good. A full Targetmaster and a easier transformation would've made this toy nearly perfect.
