Generations Bombshell
Class: Legends

This new version of Bombshell is an improvement on the original toy in almost every way (although I prefer the original's wrist guns design over the new one's lack of it). Interestingly, both versions are roughly the same size. I almost wish they'd do some Deluxe versions of these classic characters--Scout versions seem almost too small for these guys. We've had both Bombshell and Shrapnel reincarnated in new forms now all we need is a new Kickback to join him. Definitely worth picking up if you enjoy either G1 or the Insecticon characters in general.

Verdict:  Excellent.

Generations Powerglide
Class: Legends

Powerglide has come back before. The last time as a Voyager class toy for the Universe line but that one was criticized by some for being too large in size (and one release was also the wrong color scheme versus the classic Powerglide character). This release is just right for both the size and color. The new toy is poseable and very much on-character with the original. It's most definitely an improvement on the original toy (this one has proper hands, for example). He also transforms into a "gun" for the new Superion gestalt (I don't find it that great looking but appreciate the effort). My only complaint is the rear fins on the plane seem a bit wobbly right off the bat and will likely get worse over time with more play. Still, a great toy overall.

Verdict:  Excellent.

Generations Huffer
Class: Legends
Price: $10 USD/$13 CDN

My first impression of this toy is that it's basically just the Optimus Prime mold with a new head. That appears to be an accurate belief... :) Which is not to say this is a bad toy. If anything, it's a worthy mold in general and it's good they found a way to re-use it. Although Huffer's seen a lot of love lately--perhaps a Pipes version might've been another option (it still is, I suppose). I don't have a lot to say about this toy really. If you don't already have it as Optimus Prime it might be worth picking up. If you do, then it's not critical to get as it's basically the same thing (sans the Roller partner/gun, of course).

Verdict:  Good.

Generations Blackjack
Class: Legends
Price: $10 USD/$13 CDN

Blackjack's only seen life once before--as a part of the Micromaster Decepticon Sports Car Patrol (way back in 1989). I have that toy (somewhere:) and found it pretty great in its day. This new, larger toy is a great homage to that original version and a good toy all on its own. He's fairly straightforward to transform and decently poseable. In addition, he can become part of the new Menasor's chest (the original Menasor had a little car piece on its chest too but it didn't transform into anything). He also comes with a weapon (unlike the original) although it's a bit weird--more like a club then a gun.

Verdict:  Good.
